Dressing to transition from day to night might be the easiest thing ever when you live in San Francisco. Since everyone (well, almost everyone) wears jeans to work, there isn’t a large temperature differential between day and night, and you can dress casually at pretty much any restaurant in the city, the end result is that almost anyone could point blindly at their closet and still come up with an outfit that you could wear to work and then wear out.

So that’s what I’m here to tell you – this outfit was really easy to put together, and successfully took me from a day at work to a delicious dinner on the town (at Rich Table, which is in close contention with Flour + Water for my favorite restaurant in the city). Not only did I feel comfortable at work, but the stretchy waistband on these jeans served me well when we sat down for the seven-course tasting menu at dinner. What, did you think I was an amateur?

We’ve got a fun-filled, food-filled, wine-filled weekend in front of us. I hope you will experience something similar. I’ll tell you all about it next week, of course. Until then, I’ll leave you with this crazy picture that my husband managed to capture right as I was flipping my hair:

It’s like I’m living in a Pantene commercial.

Have a great weekend.
